Deep Into Post…

Howdy!

We are deep into post-production for Second Chances now! About half on the film is edited so far. Pretty soon we will be moving into the second edit, where we will be fine-tuning all of the editing already done.

After that, we will get it color graded, because we shot the film in RAW (simply meaning that it doesn’t have much color right now), to raise the quality.

The film should be completed sometime early summer next year.

Can’t wait for all of you to watch it!

May God bless you!

Matthew 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.
P.S. Here is a picture of part of the project in the editing software.

  1. Super exciting! I really like editing because you get to see all the little pieces come together before your eyes! Color-grading is really amazing too. When I heard about it I was like, “meh, looks unnecessary” but when I experimented with it…just wow. It really makes the images pop!
    BTW, what editing software are you using?

    God bless y’all as you finish the film!

        1. Yes, it is. I used to use Avid, but then when I started to use FCP I realized that it is so much easier to use and you can do so much more with it.

          Is Hitfilm Express easy to use? I know of some other filmmakers who use it as well.

        2. Well, the only editor I have to compare Hitfilm to is Windows Movie Maker, which is what I used before, sooo…. 😀 It is definitely harder to use than that! But, I would say that it is pretty easy to use – it is great as an intro to heavy duty editing beyond Windows Movie Maker and iMovie. I am also interested in trying DaVinci Resolve – it is free and I think it might turn out to be a level up from Hitfilm.
